Conference Lodging

Conference participants need to make their own lodging reservations in Taos.

Sagebrush adobe

We’ve arranged Conference room rates with The Sagebrush Inn and Suites, adjacent to The Sagebrush Inn Conference Center. All rooms offer a strong sense of the Southwest and have free high speed Internet access.

Conference-priced accommodation fills up quickly. Contact the Sagebrush Inn to make your reservation and be sure to say you are with the Conference in order to get your Conference rate.

Conference rates at The Sagebrush Inn and Suites apply to the period Friday, July 10 (after 2 p.m.) through Tuesday, July 21, 2015, and are guaranteed for reservations made by June 12, 2015. Reservations made after June 13, 2014 will be made on a space available basis. Be sure to cancel your reservation on time and keep your cancellation number in the event you cannot attend the Conference. Cancellation is 14 days prior to the arrival date in order to avoid a penalty of one night's room rent.

The Sagebrush Inn, a Taos landmark since 1929, houses an impressive collection of Native American rugs, artifacts, and original paintings. Conference rates: $79-$119 (plus tax) per night includes a full breakfast. Pet rooms are available for an additional charge of $9 (plus tax) per night with reservations.

The Suites offer a more modern décor. Rooms include a workspace designed to accommodate laptops plus a small refrigerator and microwave. Conference rate: $97 (plus tax) per night includes a full breakfast.

Please be aware that Taos is a fairly remote town so that some amenities and expectations one might have in cosmopolitan venues fall short here. While there are a variety of cuisines served in Taos restaurants around the Plaza, generally Northern New Mexican fare is simple and can be heavy, so if you have dietary restrictions, be sure to take that into account when planning your trip.

Remember to mention you have registered as a participant at the 2015 Taos Summer Writers’ Conference when you book your room to receive the Conference rate.

A reminder: July is high season in Taos which is a very popular tourist destination, so make your reservations as soon as possible.
